On 20 and 21 June 2026 Schloss Gültz opened its doors for northern Germany’s largest heritage festival: the MittsommerRemise. Every year the festival of the Baltic manor houses invites visitors to discover the palaces, estates and manor houses of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania – and Schloss Gültz was right in the thick of it.
What is the MittsommerRemise?
The MittsommerRemise is the annual heritage festival of the Verein Schlösser, Guts- und Herrenhäuser Mecklenburg-Vorpommern e.V. (Baltic Manors). On one weekend in June, dozens of historic houses across the state open their doors to visitors – from small manor houses to grand palaces, from finished gems to buildings still under restoration.
The programme in Gültz
On both days Gültz offered:
- Tours of the manor house – the owner personally guided visitors through 150 years of building history: from the vestibule with its coffered ceiling, past the sky-blue Mirror Hall, to the library with its original shelving
- Walks through the Lenné park – landscape park with ice cellar, manor pond, ancient giant trees and the magnolia
- GDR building files – original photographs and documents from the 1982–1984 renovation phase from the manor archive
- Conversations with the owners about the progress of the restoration and the plans for the coming years
How it went
Many curious visitors, good conversations and a lovely finale in the Lenné park – thank you to everyone who came and lent a hand. You can read about everything else that happened in Gültz this year in our Review of 2026.
