One Route. Four Countries. One Heritage.
Schloss Gültz is a hub of a summer tour route connecting historic manor houses in Germany, Poland, Denmark and Sweden. The route follows historic trade and cultural paths along the Baltic coast — from the Mecklenburg heartland via Rügen and Usedom, through Pomeranian estates to Szczecin, Gdańsk and Copenhagen.
Scandinavia
Over 800 historic castles and manors in Sweden and Denmark, many in family ownership. The Swedish association "Slott och Herrgårdar" and the Danish network "Herregårde.dk" connect owners and culture enthusiasts. Joint summer tours lead from Schloss Gültz via Rügen and the Rostock-Trelleborg ferry line into the Swedish province of Skåne — a home castle landscape less than five hours away.

The Polish cultural heritage portal of the National Institute for Heritage Conservation (Narodowy Instytut Dziedzictwa, NID) documents thousands of historic manor houses. Many Pomeranian estates beyond the Oder-Neisse line have a direct historical connection to Schloss Gültz — both regions belonged to the Prussian Province of Pomerania until 1945. Joint exhibitions, travel guides and cross-border tours now reconnect what history once separated.

Over 3,000 historic manor houses between Rügen and the Ore Mountains — the densest concentration of historic manors in Europe. The networks of "Castles, Estates and Manor Houses MV e.V.", "Brandenburg Manor House Association" and state castle foundations enable joint trips that can fill an entire family summer.

Schloss Gültz was rescued in 2019 from a forced auction using private funds alone — without any grants. 70 smashed windows, over two decades of vacancy and vandalism — the challenges are immense. Every contribution helps preserve this unique jewel of Prussian-Pomeranian building culture.
German Foundation for Monument Protection
The German Foundation for Monument Protection (DSD) is Germany's largest private initiative for heritage preservation. Through the weekly GlücksSpirale lottery, millions flow annually into the restoration of historic buildings. Schloss Gültz is on the DSD monitoring list for possible project funding. Donated funds are used directly and for designated purposes — no administrative costs.

A portion of every LOTTO ticket goes directly into cultural and monument preservation: In Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, LOTTO MV supports heritage projects through the Ministry of Science and Culture. In Brandenburg, the State Chancellery provides an annual special monument conservation fund from lottery proceeds. At the federal level, the 7th Chance of the GlücksSpirale finances hundreds of restoration projects every year through the DSD. Anyone playing LOTTO in MV or Brandenburg is directly investing in historic building fabric — including Schloss Gültz.
