Open Heritage Day 2026
Under the motto "NetzWERKE: Monuments & Infrastructure" Schloss Gültz opens its doors on 13 September 2026 for the nationwide Open Heritage Day — Germany's largest cultural heritage event, organised by the German Foundation for Monument Protection.
The motto invites visitors to rediscover the connections between listed buildings and their historic infrastructure — a theme perfectly fitting for Schloss Gültz with its Lenné Park, old estate tracks and fieldstone bridges.
Built 1868–1872, late-classical style, architect Georg Daniel.
Listed under § 2 DSchG M-V. Lenné Park registered as garden monument.
Over 500 years in the possession of the von Maltzahn family (1484–1945). Expropriated after WWII.
Hourly 10:30–15:30. Entrance hall, Mirror Hall (156 m²), library, salon. Restoration in progress.
Guided walk: avenue, magnolia, ice cellar, pond, estate wall, fieldstone bridges. Theme: historic estate infrastructure.
1 pm: building and use history with historic photographs, aerial images (1925, 1953) and the original Lenné plan.
Historic photographs, building plans, documents on the von Maltzahn family and Gültz estate.
Coffee & cake on the terrace. Conversation with owners about challenges and plans for Schloss Gültz.
