The Mirror Hall
On the upper floor of the manor house, a room of breathtaking beauty unfolds: the Mirror Hall, the heart of the manor house. Since 1872, it has enchanted visitors with its unique atmosphere of sky-blue stucco, gilded mirrors, and the glow of crystal chandeliers.
A Hall That Breathes History
When Baron Helmuth von Maltzahn had his new manor house built between 1868 and 1872 in the style of a North Italian villa, he planned the Mirror Hall as the representative centerpiece of social life. The Berlin architect created a ballroom of majestic proportions: 156 square meters, crowned by a 6.80-meter stucco ceiling in a characteristic sky blue that, together with the grand mirror walls, gave the hall its name.
Large gilded wall mirrors multiply the light of crystal chandeliers, bathing the room in a warm, almost ethereal glow. Between the mirrors, delicate stucco ornaments frame the tall windows that open onto views of the Lenné Park – a composition of architecture and nature preserved in its perfection to this day.
